It's been a week already

It's been a week since school has started back up.

The boy got right back into the groove.
No stress for him this week other than
he needs to clean his room. (hint hint)

The girls also got right back into the groove as well.

The smart one I think is on information over load.
Not sure if it is school or her mother on the other end of the phone!

And the Princess... this is what she thinks of homework.

First Day of School * 2010

First Day of School for the 2010

Our Smart One started her first day of college on Monday.
She even had to take her own picture.
(great job by the way)

Look - she's a freshman :-)

The Princess and the Boy had their first day of school today.

Look - she's a junior and he is an 8th grader :-)

Princess drove to school today all by herself.
(after she drove to Mego's and they followed each other to school.)

The Smart One had left letter's and rocken cd's for
the Princess and the Boy, plus the other Jersey Girls for today.

There were some happy tears this morning!

Poster

The  Smart One was so excited that
she found this poster at the bookstore.

She bought it and actually hung it up in her dorm room.

I could tell by talking to her that it makes her S.M.I.L.E.

Ashley's Dorm Room Tour

Move In Day

Once we arrived at the school, it wasn't hard to find some extra willing hands to help unload the truck.

After many trips to the truck we finally got the keys to her new room.

When she was trying to open up the door to her room, her Roomie also arrived.  This has been a huge worry for me over the last few months, not knowing who would be living with my smart one.

I know the good lord answered my prayers.

They both brought their "snuggle buddies".

Our Smart One is majoring in math and the Roomie is majoring in interior design.

While the boys were doing boy things, my Princess and I got to work unpacking and decorating.
(the Smart One watched us :-)

We still have a few pretty things to add next time we visit.
The walls are really white.

Princess and I measured really good.
Look - can you believe that the truck load all fit in that tiny little space.
Total Organization!

This Kosta Boda bowl was a graduation gift the father and I had engraved for her.

The bedding is so soft and pretty.
The sheets have peace signs on them.
Don't you just love the throw pillow?

The Smart One is very pleased with how her space turned out.
Her and the Roomie are figuring out how they want to decorate the bulletin boards they each have.

The Princess and The Boy are sure going to miss this girl....
So is her mother and father.

She REALLY Is Going To College

I remember like it was yesterday when we received the acceptance letter that our smart one was going to go to college.  I saw the bright light and the angels were singing.  Well today we loaded up the truck and she's moving but not to Beverly Hills - Our smart one is moving.

You would think that her room would be empty with all the boxes we loaded in the truck.

By we I mean myself, the father, the boy and the princess.
Our Smart One only showed up for the photo opp's!  :-)

We are sure going to miss our Smart One!  xoxo
And her adventure begins!  Watch out - here she comes!!!

IMMANUEL MISSION

The smart one decided that she would travel with the church to Immanuel Mission in Arizona. The following is her post for the fifth day of the trip.   These kids are amazing and give from the heart.

Tuesdays gone with the wind Literally

The Love for Christ is in the air! The VBC Team has been hard at work, from working in the kitchen to digging ten-foot trenches. It is a blessing to see a smile on every persons face, and to know we are doing this for the love of Christ.

Today, the Hospitality crew cleaned the housing site for all the hard workers, and put cute encouraging notes with candy on each pillow. Quotes like, “Chancho. When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun.” (Nacho Libre) Or, “The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.” (Obi-Wan from Star Wars) These funny, crazy girls had a great time doing their hostility thing.

Two of the girls’ part of the hospitality crew, cheered up the sweaty work crews with Otter Pops. Wahoo! Something cold! The icy treats were a delight to have when you are working for seven hours in 102-degree heat.

With a long days work, it was time for grub, and the Kitchen Crew cooked hamburgers! This geared the team up for Kids Club, which was a success! The team made cute cloth fishes and played games with the Navajo children.

It is an uplifting feeling to know that the LORD had brought together the VBC Team to do such great thing. Please keep us in your prayers on these last couple if days we want to thank everyone who has supported the team. ☺

P.S. Mom and Dad, I love you and thank you for giving me the opportunity to come on this adventure!

Deputy Fire Chief

Did I forget to mention who the new Deputy Fire Chief is?

Congratulations Honey!!!
